Riding around on a typical Hop-On-Hop-Off tourist bus, I did my best to photograph the unique downtown Boston building reflections from the open second level. I’m no stranger to big cities, having lived in downtown Chicago for many years during my working career. However, I do not recall seeing so many varied styles of buildings and unique design and reflections as I saw in Boston.

Brightly Colored Homes, Newfoundland
My theory regarding brightly colored homes seems to still hold true. European towns with long, cold winters have the most brightly painted houses. These brightly colored homes were a common sight in St. Johns NL, Newfoundland-Labrador, Canada. Most every home and business in this town followed this tradition. Islands seem to have more subtle pastels.
Cats in Windows
While there are an abundance of cats seen in the alleys, many are indoor cats. This was a very fortunate cat, living at ground level next to a seafood restaurant. This happy cat was fed frequently by tourists dining just across the walkway during our lunch.

Cobblestone Streets of Sibiu, Romania
Sibiu, Romania is a charming maze of winding cobblestone streets, large open squares and fine restaurants. It was a very welcomed relief from the gritty streets of Bucharest. I had seen the above blue wall and cat scene photo posted by Vagabon and Dave sixty days earlier in their travel blog and instantly loved it. So I cruised from Texas to Spain, flew from Barcelona to Bucharest, rented a car to Sibiu just to see these beautiful blue tones….. Thank you Bonnie and Dave!
