This is one of the few times I successfully anticipated the location of a rainbow. After numerous periods of rain throughout the day and then some afternoon clearing, it seemed like Panorama Point in Capitol Reef National Park was the natural place to go.

Bosque del Apache is over 55,000 acres of managed lands for the benefit of migratory birds. Through a network of dams and canals, fields are flooded providing a rest stop and food for tens of thousands of snow geese and sandhill cranes.

Yucca and White Sands Thunderhead
Periodic trips to Alamogordo, New Mexico are required so we can visit our s-t-u-f-f tucked away in a dusty storage shed. Each time we swing open the door, we are a bit surprised at the items we have saved while unable to find some other needed treasures. When visiting Alamogordo, we get our fill of Mexican food at Margo’s Restaurant and visit White Sands National Monument.

Back to the States
After seven months of travel in Europe, we head back to the States the same way we came, a Trans-Atlantic cruise. This cruise departed from Civitavecchia, Italy and landed in Ft. Lauderdale. I very much enjoy the days at sea. We can be as busy as we wish or simply relax.

Perast, Montenegro
Perast is a small fishing village in Montenegro consisting of a single street which runs along the Bay of Kotor. Driving this road in the early morning fog in my rental car, I was shocked to learn this narrow lane was actually a two lane road. The wild gesturing of the locals convinced me this was true.

Kotor, Montenegro is only an hour drive south of the more popular tourist destination of Dubrovnik in Croatia. It is a real shame people would be so close to the beautiful city of Kotor, Montenegro and not visit. I might even suggest skipping Dubrovnik for Kotor.

Cats in Windows
While there are an abundance of cats seen in the alleys, many are indoor cats. This was a very fortunate cat, living at ground level next to a seafood restaurant. This happy cat was fed frequently by tourists dining just across the walkway during our lunch.

Dubrovnik, Jewel of Croatia
Beautiful turquoise water surrounds the Old Town section of Dubrovnik, Croatia, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Only after a severe rain storm the prior day were the waters stirred up enough to create the turbulence for the turquoise water appearance.
